Pro bodybuilder from Seattle, Washington USA.
Phillip “The Gift” Heath, American IFBB professional bodybuilder and current Mr. Olympia.
Heath attended Rainer Beach High School where he played varsity basketball. His teammate was Jamal Crawford, who now plays for the Atlanta Hawks. After high school, Heath played basketball at the University of Denver. He was a powerful player with beefy arms. Then in 2002 he decided he wanted to become a professional bodybuilder. Three years later after winning the title at the 2005 NPC USA Championships he earned the right to compete in the IFBB. Later in 2006 he won his first two events, The Colorado Pro and the New York Pro Championship respectively.
Heath then placed 5th in the 2007 Arnold Classic – a top five position that allowed him to compete in the 2007 Mr. Olympia contest. But Heath was not satisfied with his performance at the Arnold Classic and he decided not to compete for the Mr. Olympia 2007, explaining that he needed more time to improve his physique.
In 2009 Heath placed fifth at the Mr. Olympia title. Determined to do better he came back the following year and came in second place. Now closer to victory than ever before, Heath continued to build his physique. And finally in 2011 he took the Mr. Olympia title, beating Jay Cutler.
